In 1976, Greg Garth and I were sent to many locations to get our shots. This is one of my favourite shots as it exemplifies teamwork. We were very fortunate to get good liaison at the units we visited. Much of this is credited to doing the groundwork before we left for each location. Many discussions were had prior, about possible shots we might be able to getWorking as a still photographer with a Film Australia crew shooting film for Officer Recruiting

Needing a cover shot for a new recruiting pamphlet, the concept was discussed between the OC, Major Andrews, Graphic designers, creative artists and myself. The easiest location for the shoot was Watsonia Barracks, after scouting out a few locations in the area, Watsonia was arranged so that we could draw the weapon and webbing from there, then it was a matter of choosing the right time to get the best shot, after about five takes I was happy with this result.
